We all want to be challenged.
To feel like we’re growing and moving towards something bigger in life.
While part of us clings to safety and security, another part of us craves adventure.
I experienced that full range of emotions in the build-up to exiting my 15-year corporate career.
Excitement, fear, freedom, “holy shit”… you name it.
This week, I’m celebrating the one-year mark of quitting my lucrative, “no-brainer” job.
And as I reflect on the past twelve months, I’ve landed on one BIG conclusion.
What’s the difference between corporate and entrepreneurship?
It’s all about failure.
In corporate, the system is designed to minimize failure (risk-taking).
In entrepreneurship, you must normalize failure.
I explain it more in this short video:
Today, I’m obsessed with failing…failing forward.
Look, I understand you want massive changes in your career and personal life.
You’re no longer willing to tolerate your current situation.
So, that leads to the bottom line question: are you failing enough?
Create the conditions for failure, my friend.
Normalize it.
